2012 – Where It All Began

Before the paperwork, there was the hard work. In 2012, WAO Steels and Mines began as a boots-on-the-ground operation focused on the procurement and movement of raw iron ore. Without offices or official titles, we were in the mines, yards, and trucks — grading, screening, and understanding the pulse of the iron ore trade firsthand. These years laid the foundation of what we stand for today: operational experience, material integrity, and on-time execution.

2014–2017 – Building Ground Strength

During this period, we expanded into full-cycle operations — managing screening units, deploying mobile crushing setups, and blending iron ore in real-time to meet varying Fe specifications. Our teams established long-term ties with licensed mine operators across Goa, Bellary, and Hospet, and we began laying the groundwork for structured exports. Our quality-first approach began gaining traction among buyers in the domestic market.

2018–2022 – Entering Export-Grade Logistics

We upgraded our supply chain capabilities to handle bulk movements to ports like Reddi and Mormugao, leveraging Goa’s unmatched logistical access: 20 km from the port, 20 km from railway, 10 km from the airport. Our team began delivering export-grade iron ore ranging from 48% to 58% Fe, with pre-shipment testing, stockyard organization, and Fe-grade consistency. By this stage, we were exporting to China, Korea, Japan, and the Middle East — trusted by clients for reliability and shipment integrity.

In 2024, WAO Steels and Mines Export Pvt Ltd was officially registered, formalizing a journey that had already spanned over a decade. Backed by years of field credibility and now equipped with a corporate structure, we became a flagship venture under WAO and CO Groups. With documentation, licensing, and third-party certifications in place (MSK, SGS, Intertek), we positioned ourselves for high-volume international trade with a clear motto: "Where Ordinary Ends.”

2024 – A New Identity, A Larger Mission

Today – Stronger, Smarter, Youth-Driven

With a young, dynamic team managing day-to-day operations, exports, and compliance, WAO Steels continues to thrive on precision, process clarity, and flexibility. We are not just an iron ore exporter — we are a value-focused supply chain partner for industries that rely on raw materials done right. From crushing and screening to jetty stuffing, port movement, custom Fe blending, real-time yard logistics, and client-specific documentation, every stage is handled with purpose and expertise. We take pride in building a system where quality isn’t just tested — it’s embedded into the process itself.

The Road Ahead – Beyond Iron, Beyond Boundaries

With iron ore as our foundation, we are now preparing to expand into related sectors including manganese, bauxite, and laterite. As the global demand for minerals continues to evolve, WAO Steels aims to be at the forefront — offering responsible sourcing, advanced logistics, and sustainable trading practices.
