Goa, Coastal Gateway to China and Beyond

Goa's iron ore is prized for its consistent high-grade hematite and magnetite, with Fe content typically between 54–58%. With our yard located just 20 km from the port, rail, and only 10 km from the airport, we are uniquely positioned to feed major export lanes bound for China, Korea, and Japan.

Daily site visits, ore sampling, and blending under controlled conditions ensure we meet export-quality standards. Once graded, the ore is hauled to our jetty facility for jetty-stuffing and expedited shipping—a logistics edge that ensures timely loads to international buyers.

Bellary – The Bulk-Weight Leader

Bellary, in Karnataka, stands as one of India's major iron ore belts. Here, we source both lumps (10–40 mm) and fines (<10 mm), ranging between 58–62% Fe. We partner with licensed mine operators, conduct rigorous field testing, and ensure all royalties, environmental consents, and e-way bills are in order before dispatch.

Ore is trucked to crushing plants, screened, and then lined up for blending and preparation. Sourcing from Bellary enables us to reliably supply large volumes required by steel plants in the Middle East and East Asia.

Hospet – Emerging Source for Quality Ore

Hospet complements Bellary’s supplies with rich magnetite and hematite outputs. Our operations here replicate the rigorous QC processes—sampling, moisture checks, and impurity profiling—that keep our export quality consistent.

Hospet-sourced ore is frequently blended with Goa material, optimizing shipping efficiency without compromising grade. This regional synergy helps WAO Steels meet significant export orders for China and Korea under Letter of Credit (LC) terms.

Global Export Strategy

India exported approx. 47.8 MMT of iron ore during 2023–24, with China alone accounting for 94% of that volume CLICK HERE In the first half of 2024, exports surged 20% year-over-year, totaling 20.26 MMT—with China importing 18.8 MMT of pellets alone CLICK HERE

WAO Steels aligns with this trend by supplying consistent, quality ore to meet Asian and Middle Eastern demand, leveraging multi-modal logistics and commitment to export compliance.

Why Our Procurement Stands Out

Securing Client Trust

We understand global buyers want:

  • Traceability in sourcing

  • Consistent Fe content with low impurities

  • Traffic route transparency, especially to China, Korea, Japan, and UAE

  • LC-based payments ensuring security and credibility

That’s why every truck, batch, and shipment is tied to documentation—from e-way bills to LC-covering invoices and test reports.

Future-Focused Expansion

WAO Steels is not stopping at iron ore. We’re actively building capacity to source and export manganese, bauxite, and laterite as demand grows. As India scales up its steel-making and infrastructure goals—led by both domestic consumption and the global “Made in India” momentum—we aim to be at the center of that transition CHECK THIS OUT - LINK 1 | LINK 2
