Iron ore lumps are coarse iron ore particles ranging between 10 mm and 40 mm in size, widely preferred in the steel industry for direct use in blast furnaces. The journey of our iron ore lumps begins with Run-of-Mine (ROM) ore extraction from our leased mines. The ROM is then transported to our crushing and screening facilities, where the material is reduced to sub-40 mm size. Following mechanical separation, particles larger than 10 mm are sorted as lump ore. This processed product is then tested for Fe content, moisture, and impurities, with only qualified batches approved for export. Our lump ore is stored in dedicated stockyards based on grade and destination, ensuring traceability and prompt loading once export clearance is obtained.

With proximity to key ports like Reddi Port and other West Coast facilities, WAO Steels enjoys a strong logistics advantage. We operate a multi-modal transport system: road transport from mines to yards, barge movement to ports (where applicable), and bulk vessel loading with full compliance. Our port operations include calibrated weighing, SGS (or equivalent) inspection, and documentation such as COO, test certificates, and shipping instructions—all completed under strict timeline adherence. Our operational flexibility allows us to serve bulk orders for vessels like Handysize, Supramax, or Panamax depending on client needs.
